Key Federal Legisation that Helps Protect Rangelands

Roughly 75% of the land comprising the state of Arizona--some 56 million acres--can be classifed as rangeland. Nearly all of this rangeland is publicly owned and managed by agencies of the Federal, State, or American Indian tribal governments. The purpose of this section is to provide information on the federal legislation that governs the use of public lands and the ways private citizens can effectively engage in the public debate concerning these lands and how they are managed.
